MANCHESTER City's mega-rich owner Thaksin Shinawatra is reported to be determined to land Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov in a British transfer record deal.

The Daily Mail says rumours were rife yesterday that Shinawatra was lining up an eye-poping £32million offer for the Bulgarian hit-man.

But with City's bitter rivals Manchester United still believed to be in the hunt for a player Alex Ferguson has already attempted to sign, it appears it would be the red half of Manchester that would tempt Berbatov.

With strong interest from Spain and Italy as well, the players agent is believed to only want his client to join United if he is to remain in England.

What a load of rubbish! The only reason he will leave is for a champion team, why the hell would he leave for a smaller, less successful club going nowhere, they probably wont even have a manager next season!

Berbatov ,if he is leaving, is only leaving spurs because he wants to play in champions league!

WHY THE F**K WOULD HE MOVE TO MAN.CITY??????
he may aswell stay at spurs... got more chance of champs league football at spurs than at city!

Hey, Man city qualify for Europe this season? Any trophy? Well, we got a trophy and a place in Europe by being in the lower half of the league, hhmmmm show something does it. We know how to get our priorities right.

lol you Spurs fan are really childish now arent you, jealousy gets you nothing, the truth is undeniable so you will just have to live with the fact City are way ahead of you, soon as you loose Berby & Lennon etc you will be back to basics with boring old Keane. Ramos hasnt got a hope in hell of making you lot top 4, the cash is not there to achieve that, on the other hand we do have the cash wink wink lap it up lap dogs

Fantastic - another article creating a little spice
we all need a little perspective here - and to stop believing the amopunt of garbage that gets put out on these sites.
Sorry man city - but no matter how much you offer and even if we accept - Berby WILL NOT GO TO YOU!
nothing to do with whos bigger or whos the new Russian on the block - champions league is the only thing that would move berby on - and you can't offer it and despite what you blues may think - you're no closer to offering than we are.
I'm happy with spurs at the mo - a poor league season but we won a cup - regardless of what people may say (trueblue) about a "micky mouse" cup - if you won it you know just how much it would mean so don't try and belittle it
for any fan of a club who has won nothing this year to take the "micky" shows a lack of class and a laughable attitude to being a fan.

City Fans need to wake up. You spent loads of money this year for what...no place at either of the European tables next year. No Trophies big small whatever....NO TROPHIES!! To say Spurs don't have the money is utter nonsense, last time they published the richest clubs list I believe we were higher than you and we were the hoghest club in Europe outside of the Champions League, so don't go getting ahead of yourselves...Newcast
le spent loads of money on big players and got a lot closer than you have...and they still won nothing. They are on the way back now and good luck to them as they are a big club. We had our worst season for a while and still won something, you had your best and won nothing! As for the out of Europe after two games...shame you will never even get that far!! COYS

Man City may well still qualify for UEFA Cup spot via Fair Play League. Fingers crossed, I'm sick of Spuds

Spurs fans are so bitter! Face it, City are a much bigger club than Spurs with a better history and a brighter future! City are the main team in Manchester and will soon be up there with the top Premiership teams. Spurs are going nowhere long term. Even though Ramos is a good manager, you messed up your chance to break into the top 4 under Jol!

Spurs fans are so delusional. Check the gates and check your history. Then compare the spend that City finally have available after decades of boardroom amateurism. Then take a look at the league table. City are at least as big as Spurs and are heading upwards and onwards. ByeBye......

And you call yourselves a big club.

You were in Division 2, 9 years ago.
