COMMUNITIES in Epping Forest, Harlow and East Hertfordshire are digesting new Government plans to build around 15,000 new homes in their districts by 2021.

Proposals for the ambitious regeneration scheme of the M11 Corridor were part of the revised East of England Plan published today (May 12).

Bosses at the three councils in the districts are picking through the 120-page report prior to releasing statements tomorrow morning.

But a spokesman for the Stop Harlow North campaign group wasted no time in condemning the plans as "fundamentally flawed, unnecessary, unsustainable and undemocratic."

Communities Minister Parmjit Dhanda says the scheme will "deliver affordable housing, better transport networks, infrastructure and jobs growth."

How many different ways can the Government screw-over the people in the South East of England? They never cease to amaze me!

Paul Delaney, Hainault says...
3:38pm Tue 13 May 08

Yet more homes beng built to house illegal immigrants?!

Paul, Walthamstow says...
4:49pm Tue 13 May 08

Immigrants don't get housed, check yer facts! They're not entitled to public benefits.
They stay with friends or rent overpriced, poor rooms from people like you.

Paul Delaney, Hainault says...
5:38pm Tue 13 May 08

"Immigrants don't get house". Sir, where have you been for the last couple of years! Go to Epping Forest Housing Department and you will see who are queing! Secondly, immigrants ARE being housed as they are often classed as "homeless" i.e. they have come here but have nowhere to live. The council then has a duty to house them because they are classified as "homeless". This affects the English homeless, our young trying to get housing and our pensioners. 'Paul' needs to wake up and stop believing the Guardian or other propoganda from the Liberal / Left lobby.

Stan Kelly, Epping says...
5:40pm Tue 13 May 08

Who is Paul speaking for, he is from Walthamstow, why should he speak about Epping Forest! Stick to the cr@p hole that is Walthamstow

Deidre Morgan, Buckhurst Hill says...
5:45pm Tue 13 May 08

These houses will just house Africans or other Asians that have come here recently. We are cementing over our green areas, this is a small island!!

Paul, Walthamstow says...
2:01pm Wed 14 May 08

Immigrants have to pay £500-£1000 to apply for temporary and then permanent stay. In the meantime, they have to pay tax and NI, but cannot claim any benefits. Fact. Don't believe the right-wing tabloids!
Epping/Essex has long been spoilt with the large number of ignorant, self-obsessed bigots who live there. I'll stick with London, E17, thanks. Most of my neighbours are fine.
Say no to racism and fascism, forward to socialism.

Terence McDermott, Loughton Broadway says...
4:13pm Wed 14 May 08

No, Paul that is incorrect. And quite why someone who lives in Walthamstow feels obliged to comment on an Epping Forest thread is beyond me! You are quoting the system for asylum seekers and not illegal immigrants. I'm not sure if your being deliberately misleading, if so it's bad form. Illegal immigrants have got loads of housing in Dagenham, Barking, Redbridge, Havering etc. Loughton, Debden and then Epping will be next unless the English say enough is enough. Your quote - "Epping/Essex has long been spoilt with the large number of ignorant, self-obsessed bigots who live there". Quite a statement to make, stereotyping a whole county! But, I suppose it shows you must be warped! The British people know the problems they face. They see it when they look around at different areas. Many such as housing are further exaserbated by illegal immigrants. Not to mention the growing radical islam terror threat. People like Paul just listen to the liberal /left propoganda of the guardian or even morning star! They hate English people, and there own culture! Weird. But, the 150,000 real Londoners who voted for the BNP in the London elections know change is needed. An end to racism against the local people.

Mary Whittaker, Debden says...
4:16pm Wed 14 May 08

What the eff is that Paul talking about! Is he trying to be funny or what?! He's talking utter rubbish about housing. Two of my new neighbours are from Africa, and they're in council houses!

Lloyd Francis, Barnet says...
6:45pm Wed 14 May 08

"British values mean nothing to me" says Renata Gural, a Romany gypsy from Poland who made her 13 year old daughter marry a boy of 14. They wed in the UK three weeks ago. Would Social Services have done something if her surname was Smith? This is the truth of "multi-culturalism".

Paul, Walthamstow says...
9:23pm Wed 14 May 08

Asylum seekers may be entitled to housing and benefits but new immigrants are not. They have to apply to study or work here. Most contribute far more than they take. Don't believe all you hear down the pub or read in the right-wing tabloid press!
Unite and fight against poverty and bigotry...say no to fascism.
Millions voted for Hitler remember...

Lloyd Francis, Barnet says...
11:07pm Wed 14 May 08

The House of Lords committee on Immigration found no benefit to the average brit from immigration. If it benefits anyone, it benefits rich managers of companies who can reduce there wage bill. The report was the most detailed ever, and included many prominent politicians from years gone by. Immigration is a con, it has no benefit to the UK. There are millions on disability benefit, we should get our own people to do the work first. It is a mad system. We are losing British values, the values that made us rule over 1/3 of the worlds surface. Intelligence groups in France, America, Germany etc refer to London as "Londonistan" for the amount of radical islamists who may be operating - although Paul would see this as a "benefit"(!) of immigration!!

Bernadette Meahyre, Hainault says...
11:09pm Wed 14 May 08

This Paul keeps saying the same thing. He cant respond to peoples accurate facts above!! Typical Lefty.

Bartok, Leyton says...
11:30pm Wed 14 May 08

IS TOOS MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN LEYTON AND MY PEOPLE LIKE THE GREEN GRASS AND QUIET IN CONTRYSIDE AND IT BEST IF SOME LIVE IN THE EPPINGS AND THE THEYDON AND THE ESSEX. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND HAVE THE COUNCIL HOUSE BUT I WORK BUILDING AND MY WIFE WORKS HARD CLEAN ENGLISH TOILET AND WE PAY TAX TO ENGLAND SO WE MUST HAVE ALL BENEFITS TOO

Jenny Thomas, Loughton, Essex says...
1:03pm Thu 15 May 08

This doesn't involve Epping at all, so the good old immigrants won't be getting housed in the countryside as they would like.

This involves building a town the size of St. Albans in north Harlow, hence it is called the 'North Harlow Plan'!

Pauline Quirk, Leyton says...
1:06pm Thu 15 May 08

Yes, but there will be inevitable spillover. Most new flats / houses that are built in Essex or Gt. London are housing a minium of 30% immigrants, who have been helped with housing by a local authority or a housing agency. Often, this support is not available to our young people. It is not fair. An end to this blatant discrimination against the indegenous British and Irish.

Jason Richards, Thornwood Common says...
1:29pm Thu 15 May 08

The need for this has grown out of the fact that this Country has and is taking on a seriously high number of immigrants, very few will argue that fact.

Although I think the headline is very misleading, the plan is to build this development, which I understand could have as many 'homes' as 250,000 in north Harlow which isn't in the Epping Forest District, in fact I understand this development will effect Hertfordshire and Harlow, so where do they get Epping Forest from???

Harlow is some 6 miles away from Epping, that would have to be some spillover to affect Epping!

Pauline Quirk, Leyton says...

Spillover as in that the area will attract immigrants. These will naturally move about and try and get housing in Epping. It has happened elsewhere. We are still importing immigrants at the bucket load, indeed it is the UKs biggest industry nowadays! Where is Enoch Powell when you need him.

I can see were you're coming from, I guess once they learn there is towns like Epping only a few miles away, they'll pay a visit! Epping is already starting to get beggars!!!

Enoch Powell, are we allowed to say his name or is it racist?! What a prophet he was!

John Waitson, Woodford says...
5:22pm Thu 15 May 08

God don’t talk about beggars! I used to work in Epping and saw the Big Issue seller of Epping get off at Epping tube station every day. I never bought a Big Issue from her; she can just about speak English! But seeing her come in from London to Epping everyday really p**sed me off, I’m sure there are needy Epping residents that could sell it instead.

Katie Hornless, Chigwell says...
6:25pm Thu 15 May 08

Lets stop all this Bulls**t new build in the District, residents don't need nor want it and it destroys what people moved to the area for.

Homjit, Leytonstone says...

i want live in epping with cows and grass, i get benefits you people owe me and my family for taking my india and making it english. so i get own back by making you pay for me to live and i want live in epping with the posh white english and drink tea with them.

HEY I've posted at least 12 messages on here under pseudonyms pretending to be pro-BNP...can you spot them?
It's not easy. Their 'arguments' are almost beyond spoof. I've sent some as decent, but woefully misinformed white workers who justifiably feel unhappy but blame the wrong target, some as died in the wool racist nutters who hate anyone different and some trying to be clever but still full of nonsense.
Even I can't spot the real ones now. I'm out of here.
